Business History
Jackson Interior Design & Furnishing Company, Inc. was organized in 1979 with offices in the Tri-City Airport terminal building. In 1983, we moved our offices to a larger suite in the Airport Lobby and added a gift and accessories gallery. In December, 1990, we moved to our present location at 1605 Blountville Boulevard in Blountville, TN. We are located at the intersection of Highway 126 and Old Highway 37 across from Burger King and the new Sullivan County Offices. This location has provided us with much needed growth space, while maintaining our central location. |
Our Clientele
We have many clients in all design sectors – industrial, banking, hospitality, commercial, corporate, public utilities, and public service facilities. Our clients have included Fortune 500 Companies. We also do extensive residential work. References for both our commercial and residential Clients can be furnished upon request, and we can also arrange for site visits, if desired. |
Design and Technical Services
We are staffed by registered and degreed designers with more than thirty-five years of interior design experience. We provide a full range of services including programming; problem solving; space planning; furniture selection and layout; selection and application of finish materials; technical drawings, elevations, schematics, perspectives; and installation. We also provide electrical and acoustical planning, circulation and lighting analysis, barrier-free design, and code compliant design. We utilize Computer Aided Design Drafting (CADD) to assure precision, accuracy, and prompt revisions. Our staff participates in continuing education programs to assure our ability to offer the most current solutions and adherence to updated health, safety, and welfare codes or issues. We address workplace noise
pollution, “sick building” syndrome, and productivity problems, and specify products which are environmentally safe. We are experienced in systems furniture planning and
installation, and we provide “one-of-a-kind” design which caters to the Client’s needs. |

Aesthetics
Our interior designers are trained in the elements and principles of design, design theories, and basic and creative arts. The principles of design are applied to our accessorizing, or decorating, function to achieve aesthetics and accuracy which compliments the period or style selected by the Client. Our accessories gallery provides selections in traditional, transitional, and contemporary. The aesthetics are as critical to the project as any other detail, and our designers are as attentive to this aspect as to any other. |
Installation
We install or supervise installations by our approved list of installers unless the Client insists otherwise. Craftsmanship and good workmanship are so rare in today’s work place that we just do not like to trust our reputation and our Client’s money and satisfaction to chance. This service permits us to achieve the Client’s design concept by using installers who are known to do quality work. |
Products and Budget
We not only sell furniture, but also carpet, wall coverings, window treatments, ceilings, accessories, and cabinetry. We sell such specialty items as computer support furniture and home office furniture. We purchase from more than 100 manufacturers. We are not “married” to particular manufacturers, therefore, we can truly provide the best products for the best money for each Client’s particular needs. We do not inventory, except for accessories, and therefore are not burdened by the cost of carrying inventory or paying for the space to house it. We ask that you not be taken in by the “Discount from Retail” gimmick. It is routine in our area, and in North Carolina, for dealers to inflate retail, and then offer a discount from that mark-up and claim savings for the customer. We price from cost, and we will save you money by doing so. Our charges are commensurable with the services received. In conjunction with our accessories gallery, we provide an accessorizing service which allows the Client to make purchases based on in-home or in office viewing. We also provide customized purchasing from markets in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, New York, and San Francisco. This custom buying service assures unique pieces for unique projects. |
